Welcome to our team’s Craigslist Recruiting System. Craigslist is a great way to generate a fresh supply of leads for your business. It does cost money, but it also gives you leverage and frees up your time.
Keep in mind you should only do this after you have gone through your warm market and exhausted your other lead sources. Also, if this strategy does not resonate with you or make sense to you, choose a different strategy instead.
Where to Place Your Ad
We are not allowed to do free ads on Craigslist. Those ads will get flagged and removed. Only use PAID ads under the JOBS, then the SALES category. By doing so you will be able to include your link in the ad.
Do not place the same exact ad in more than one city. Also, try to never have more than 4-5 active ads at one time. Start with cities in your local area and then expand outward.
The Cost & Duration
The ads range in price from about $10 to $45, depending on the size of the city. Ads in smaller cities cost less than then the bigger cities. Also, the ads run for a duration of 30-days. Payment is made via credit card.
Expectations
You will get most of your clicks in the first 72-hours while the ad is near the top of the job postings. Each new ad that gets published pushes your ad down one space, so more ads show above it. However, you should get clicks throughout the entire 30-days.
In most cases, I pay around $2 to $3 per FREE signup I get via the Craigslist ads. For example, if I spend $20 on an ad, I normally get 6 to 10 free signups within the 30-day window the ad runs. Individual results will vary. You could do better or worse.
Tracking Your Ads
Use a tracking link for each city. Here are some examples using my own link. Just replace my ID with yours.

All you do is add the ? and tracking code to the end of your HBN Powerline link, just like I did. This will allow you to track how many PEMs you are getting from each ad.
Headlines & Ad Title
The title is everything. Here are a few example titles:
- Work from Home – Six Figure Income Potential
- Online Sales Reps Wanted
- E-Commerce Sales Reps Wanted – Make Money Online
- CBD Sales Reps Wanted – Help Expand Our Business
- Self-Motivated Sales Reps Wanted – Earn 20 to 50 Percent Commissions
Do NOT use these titles. They are just examples. Come up with your own titles. You want something that stands out and captures the reader’s attention. Be bold, be different, and don’t make any crazy, illegal claims. Also, NEVER say the name of our company in the title or ad.
Photos
Make sure you include one or two photos with your ads. Go online and find an image for “sales reps” or “sales jobs” or “work from home” and include that. Just make sure the photo you choose is relevant to the ad.

What Now?
The first thing to do is visit Craigslist and create your free account. Once you login, the first thing you want to do is select the city you want to advertise in.
You can see your choices on the far-right column of the image shown above. I highlighted the city St. Augustine, Florida as an example. Once you click on the city, the next step is to create a posting.
To create a posting, click on the CREATE A POSTING link you see highlighted on the top left of the page.
Once you do that, it will take you to the next page, which looks like this.
On this page, click on JOB OFFERED. Once you do that, this page will show up.
Select SALES, just like I did. That will take you to the next page.
Fill out everything on this page. Type in the headline and the city and zip code. Include the description for the job.
For posting type, it will be employee’s choice. For compensation, type commission based. For company name, I just use my last name with the word Enterprises. For email privacy options, I click no replies to this email.
After you enter the information, click continue. On the next page, you will add your images. Once that is done, you can review your ad and then pay.
Be sure to print a copy of your receipt for your tax records. You’ve now done your first Craigslist ad. Just rinse and repeat this process over and over.
